Past Work - DE1005 Introduction to Imagemaking (photography)

This is the second part of the image making module DE1005. We were asked to experiment with the photographic medium and the idea of series' of images. The only parameter was that the series had to have something in common from image to image. Not necessarily a narrative. It could be the subject matter or the content of the image, or it could be something about the way the image was composed in the frame.

I produced three pairs of images following the path of the Design Event 08 pavement stickers dotted around Newcastle City Centre at the time. By the time I had taken the images and made my selection, the DE was making a close. I did get to see some of the exhibitions, but sadly not all of them.

I was trying to show the viewer the span of the DE path. Like a golden road leading people to the different shows. I think I got too immersed into the content of the pictures, and in hindsight I thought it could have been better to have concentrated on the composition of the content in the frame instead.
